SHOW NOTES
Amidlife Traveler Podcast; IRELAND series
EPISODE: 10 minute Ireland & Preview of 25 Irish Storytellers

Hello everyone!

As we get ready to kick off our series on Ireland we are doing something different with this episode… giving you a sense of what you can expect to learn about in this Ireland series.

But before we get started on Ireland, we need to THANK some people

Sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has listened, rated, reviewed and subscribed to the Amidlife Traveler podcast so far. We are truly humbled and grateful that you have joined us in this podcast journey.  As a new travel podcast, we have a unique short story format sharing travel destinations through the voices of locals who live there and travelers who have been there.

We’ve been online less than 2 months now (went live in Apple Podcast/iTunes end of September 2017) and recently we’ve had a couple of days where the Amidlife Traveler podcast appeared as the top podcast on iTunes for the category of ‘Places and Travel’ (which is a subcategory of society and culture). Momentarily, we were up there next to big name travel podcasts…it was just such an honor and even more so are people that are reaching out to me because of this podcast.

GRATITUDE & YOUR WORDS
So there are friends and family who are planning trips to Ireland and Scotland now.  And we’ve also met and heard so many vacation stories from people about their trips to Scotland or Ireland.  In the future, we hope to share some of those stories with you.

Thank you Jason Herberger for reviewing us on iTunes!

“This podcast is amazing. My wife and I are six months away from cutting the cord and traveling full time. This podcast has given us a bunch of ideas for what to do and where to go. Great job and keep the ideas coming.”  – Jason Herzeberger

Well thanks Jason! We appreciate your kind words and are thrilled for your trip with your wife. Perhaps we should connect and when you guys are out exploring the globe we can share some of your travel stories on future episodes?

Thank you Benson Norsk for reviewing us on iTunes!

“I love the informative and short podcasts from actual travels abroad. I have Norwegian and Irish heritage and it’s refreshing to hear new takes from the locals on the history and the cultures. Thanks for sharing your love of travel in these podcasts and for encouraging others to explore the world.” – Benson Norsk

And thank you Benson for writing such an awesome review of our podcast. We’re really happy that you’re enjoying them. It’s been our pleasure to find some of these local stories on Viking’s that we’ve shared so far, and what you’ll be hearing upcoming from Ireland.

So with that thanks again everyone who’s helping and encouraging this podcast so far it just makes us want to keep on sharing!

And now… on to IRELAND !!!!

As we get ready to kick off our series on Ireland, we’re doing something different with this episode to give you a sense of what you can expect to learn about in this Ireland series. There is not a guest this time, just a Laura sharing with you a sample of what is to come from 25+ Irish Storytellers.

Planning a trip to Ireland? Helpful advice is coming your way…

So you are interested in travelling and experiencing Ireland, but you’re not really sure where to go or what to do? It can be kind of confusing, and intimidating with much information online in different formats. If you haven’t been to a place yet, how do you know what you will want to do? How do you compare and prioritize? What cities you should visit? How will you choose what things to see and do in your limited vacation time?

Laura gets it. She understands that (if this is you) then know that she went through that when planning her trip to Ireland. She will tell you exactly (in a future episode) how she went about researching and creating her custom trip plan through a combination of lots of internet research, package tours for ideas, and then creating her own itinerary with individual small tour packages. She will give you in Ireland travel itinerary in a plan format so maybe you can use it as a start and modify it for your own travels.

But how you could plan a trip to Ireland, you’re going to be able to hear about Ireland through the voices of locals who live there. You can learn more about Ireland to get you motivated about your trip, and maybe help to decide and pick and choose what things you might want to see when you’re there.

2 SPOILER ALERTS

(1) Here are links to the two main travel tours (fully guided) that inspired Laura’s travel planing

GAdventures:  9 Day Higlights of Ireland Tour
GAdventures: 13 Day Ireland Explorer

But, Laura was in Ireland for a conference and therefore needed to create her own custom travel plan with small tours sprinkled on various days.

(2) Here is the awesome resouce to create your own custom versions of tour packages, w/small tours
