Dublin Calling: 20 Airport Quotes & Creative Ireland

The Irish Culture Values Creativity.

Anyone who has taken a vacation in Ireland should already be aware that the Irish are a creative people who are not shy about humor. And it goes beyond the ‘knock-knock joke’ kind of creativity and humor.  As proven through cultural street art in communities, to talented buskers and street musicians, plus having one of the worlds best fully digital interactive museum experience at the EPIC Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin… Ireland is brimming with interesting ways of dressing up everyday things.

Ireland even has an official nationwide Creative Ireland  program guided by the vision that every person in Ireland will have the opportunity to realize their full creative potential. It is a five year all-of- Government initiative, from 2017 to 2022, to place creativity at the center of public policy.

Wowza.  In addition to benefiting the citizens of Ireland, every single tourist and visitor to Ireland will benefit from experiencing this as well.  It contributes to very positive and interesting vacation experiences.

On a small scale example, we were reminded of this creativity even when leaving from the Dublin airport and just had to share.  The Dublin airport showcases provocative thought clouds on the walls (we think they are mental travel fortune cookies)  and even the mundane packaging of a sandwich is creative.  Yes, you read that right, we just said a sandwich is creative. Below, you can click through and read 20  Pieces of Advice & Quotes Seen at the Dublin Airport… and after you can read about the sandwich. Enjoy!

And now on to that sandwich….

It’s the Funky Chicken & Stuffing Sandwich from Scribbles.ie whose tagline is “Fine Food with Attitude”.  The food critic in us wants you to know that yes, there was real stuffing mixed into chicken salad.  And, we give 5 stars plus two thumbs up for being both tasty and also providing a new novel idea of what to do our leftovers next Thanksgiving.

But little did we realize at the point of purchase that bought entertainment along with the sandwich.  When unwrapping lunch, we noticed the side of the packaging asked us to “Graph our emotional experience with the sandwich”….brilliant and clever.  Love it!
