What’s the weather like in Scotland? Best times to visit?

SPRING IN SCOTLAND
Sunshine, and possibility of rain. Spring is a nice time to visit to see all the flowers opening, but there can always be risk of rainfall at any time. With sunshine and Spring also brings the start of tourist season which starts to pick up in April, and early spring March and April visitors will find decent weather with smaller crowds at most major tourist attractions.
SUMMER IN SCOTLAND
Warm weather, lot of crowds. Summer has the most sunshine and consistently warm weather. Visitors will find lots to do, with all tourist attractions open plus terrific events such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh, and Highland Games events occurring in multiple locations. It is the most popular (and crowded) time to visit Scotland for vacation. The roads and ferries particularly in the Scotland’s Highlands and Hebrides Islands can get quite busy and lodging accommodations more difficult to fund unless you book in advance.
LATE SUMMER/EARLY FALL
Sunny, warm, nice. Late summer and early fall is a wonderful time to visit Scotland! The weather is still relatively warm, very good odds of enjoying sunshine, all of the tourist attractions are still open and the crowds are smaller. the sun is shining and all of the tourist attractions are open. Tourist season winds down in October.
WINTER IN SCOTLAND
Brrr. Winter in Scotland is on the chilly side and damp, plus it is not the main tourist season so visitors may find tourist attractions closed and limited tour operations. Not the best time to visit to experience the tourist sites and you will need to like cold weather.
